Selling an increasing range of Perry Pears etc.

Bulmers

The Cider Mills, Plough Lane, Hereford HR4 0LE

We produce standard & half standard trees (limited quantities usually available, unless pre-ordered) in cider, dessert and culinary varieties and perry pears. Bush trees are only grown to specific order. Unusual varieties as standards can be ordered at extra cost, subject to the availability of suitable bud wood (all trees are propagated in August by budding and not by grafting in April). All trees are bare-rooted for collection from our nursery in Kinnersley, north Herefordshire. Please note: we sell true standards with a 6'6''/2metre approx bare trunk and are likely to be 12-13 ft in height when purchased. They all have a Bulmers Norman interstem, that gives them a good, straight trunk. Unfortunately, many nursery trees, which are sold as standards, are just M25 whips.

A price list is produced each year and can be posted/sent by email to you. To secure an order it is best to order well in advance. The contact for tree availability and to place an order is Gill Turner 01432 294302  gill.turner@heineken.co.uk Gill will be very busy from the end of July until the end of November preparing the Fruit Office and managing fruit intake. Ian Sturrock & Sons Nursery

We have been succesfully growing rare organic Welsh fruit trees in North Wales for the last 30 years. After many years of searching, researching and trials, we have developed a collection of fruit trees that will succeed in our unique location. We have varieties of Apple, Pear, Plum and Damson fruit trees from both Wales and further afield, all of which are unique and rare. Our organic fruit trees are disease resistant (no need to spray), ripen well despite our cool and cloudy summers and fruit that doesn't blow off the trees during autumn gales.

In 1998 we discovered the Bardsey Island Apple which led to a massive resurgence of interest in old, almost extinct Welsh Varieties. These tough, disease resistant fruit trees are now being planted throughout Wales, the UK & Europe, even as far as the US and New Zealand!    Pen y Bonc, Lôn Cytir, Bangor, Gwynedd LL57 4DA
